Founded in 1729 Ruinart is widely regarded as one of the most prestigious hoses in Champagne. All 3 allowed grape varieties are used with great effect here. 45% Chardonnay, combined with 45% Pinot and finished with 10% Pinot Meunière is a most successful blend. The bouquet is honeyed with some pear and apple fruits along with the brioche a telltale sign of significant bottle aging with the yeast lees trapped inside. The finish is crisp and dry.
